BIG PLANS FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 16 @ 9a.m. (AND THEY INVOLVE YOU!!) – Join us in the Computer Lab located downstairs under Fellowship Hall for a GOD IS STILL SPEAKING BRUNCH and COMMERCIAL LAUNCH. We will watch the launch of the UCC commercial and send it on to others. We have several computers with wireless internet service but if you have a laptop, bring it to this ground breaking event! Brunch is $5/person, catered by Rooney’s Corner Café. Call Pastor Lucy or sign up in the lounge by April 11.
PEEP SHOW – Once again we will have a display for the PEEP SHOW at the Carroll County Arts Council (held from April 9-17, 2010). Please give us your ideas on the sign up sheet in the lounge. HAITI RELIEF: Consistory voted to donate $5,000 from the Outreach discretionary fund to be sent immediately to the United Church of Christ disaster relief fund. We are challenging the congregation to match or exceed that amount in additional gifts. You can donate online at http://www.ucc.org/disaster/major-earthquake-strikes.html, give to an agency of your choice or give a check made out to St. Paul's Ucc and in the memo line - HaitiRelief.
The CARROLL CONCERT BAND under the direction of Glenn Patterson and Associate Conductor Kristen Stoetzer will present their annual Sousa Style concert on Sunday, March 21, at 3p.m., at Winters Mill High School. Tickets are available at the Arts Council and localmusic stores or from Glenn or Barbara Patterson. Tickets: $7 seniors, $8 adults, $4 students or $15 immediate family. The concert will honor Miriam F. Beck, narrator for the band since 1987 and arts advocate and an active member of numerous boards of directors for non profit organizations in Carroll County.
CARING CARROLL is a faith-based, non-profit organization that offers non-medical services to help people remain independent in their homes as long as possible. They are offering a training session for new volunteers on Saturday, March 20, 10-11a.m. or Tuesday, March 23, 5-6p.m. at the Westminster Library large meeting room. Volunteers offer services such as: friendly visits, transportation within Carroll County, light housekeeping and meal preparation, grocery shopping and errands, yard work, and minor home repairs.
