Stephen Ministry
Stephen Leader: Lynn Breeding
Stephen Ministers at St. Paul's are lay men and women from the congregation who have received training and have developed their skills to care for people who are experiencing life's stresses, including illness, grief, loneliness, loss of a job, divorce or separation, or other issues requiring Christian care. The ministry has been active at St. Paul's for over four years. Stephen Ministers provide care for church members, friends and, if available, other members of the community.
Twenty persons have received the fifty hours of initial training and active members continue to meet bi-weekly for peer support and continuing education. To date, at least 35 people have received the care of a Stephen Minister and hundreds of hours have been logged in care giving. Several persons have received care for more than four years. The group meets every other week on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 7:00pm for peer support and continuing education.
