Weddings, Catering and More

CONGRATULATIONS – You’ve done the hard part.  You’ve found your Prince Charming (or Princess Charming).  Celebrate Your Wedding With St. Paul'sWe congratulate you on your upcoming marriage and look forward to helping you plan your wedding service. A Christian wedding is a Service of the Church. Our desire is to join you in making your wedding a service that will be meaningful.

To that end, we offer our services and facilities at St. Paul’s to all members and to others in accordance with policies approved by the Consistory, which is the governing body of this congregation.

The avowed purpose of this church shall be to worship God, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to celebrate the Sacraments; to realize Christian fellowship and unity within this church and the Church Universal; to give caring, loving service to our church family and to all humankind; and to strive for righteousness, justice, and peace.

Even the simplest weddings require forethought and preparation. Since many weddings are solemnized in St. Paul’s, please set the date and reserve the facilities with the Church office as early as possible. Many people: pastor, organist, wedding coordinator, attendants, and church support staff are involved, and the dates and hours need to be reserved well in advance.

ARRANGEMENTS – As soon as your wedding plans begin to take shape, you should contact the church office. Please complete the enclosed registration form in order to confirm your dates. This registration form should be accompanied by a check to cover fees for: the facility, facilities manager, administrative support, and wedding coordinator. The amounts are listed later in this booklet.

The wedding rehearsal may be conducted the evening before the wedding and usually lasts one hour. The couple, the parents of the couple, the attendants, the ushers, readers, soloists, musicians and the organist are typically present at the rehearsal.

If desired, the church office will prepare the wedding service bulletins for your convenience (see the fee chart at the end of this pamphlet). Bulletin covers purchased by the couple must be dropped off at the church office at least one week before the wedding. Bulletin covers are available online, also.

It is essential that the social rooms be reserved in advance. You will be assigned a Wedding Coordinator who will work with you around the use of facilities and collaborate with any other wedding planner you involve. Accompanying this pamphlet is additional information regarding the use of church facilities available for rehearsal dinner and/or reception in Fellowship Hall.

MUSIC  – A list of approved organists will be provided. The services of organists not listed may be used only in consultation with the pastor or Music Director.

Use of other musicians and soloists may also be addressed in the wedding planning process with the pastor.
