Linda has served as Office Manager at St. Paul’s since November 2013. A lifelong Churchgoer, Linda was raised in the Episcopal Church. Then, as an adult she has been involved in churches in 8 denominations/associations including Mennonite, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist & Willow Creek Association. Serving at St. Paul’s is her first involvement with a United Church of Christ congregation.
Originally trained as a mechanical engineer, Linda went to graduate school for an MBA in Community Economic Development in underdeveloped communities, where she met and married her husband, Jonathan, a native of Great Britain. Together, they have lived and ministered in communities in 4 foreign countries & 5 American states on 3 continents (hence the variety of churches they have attended!).
Linda began her Church Office Administrative career with a Lutheran congregation in coastal Georgia, a little over 10 years ago, when her only daughter, Kayla, entered Kindergarten. There, Linda developed her love for the variety in work and relationships involved in administrative support of a congregation’s worship and ministries. After 3 years, when their family moved overseas, Linda took up freelance volunteer administrative support work in the international congregations they belonged to in Hungary, Slovakia & South Africa, work which she continued through contacts she made through her daughter’s high school and activities when her family returned to the US & took up residence in Maryland.
Linda is pleased to be serving at St. Paul’s, where she has experienced the warm welcome extended to all and is quickly developing working relationships with many in the congregation. She can be contacted at the Church Office during posted office hours.
Outside St. Paul’s she is involved in freelance administrative work with the theater & foreign student hosting programs at her daughter’s school, as well as hosting a Chinese exchange student during the school year. She attends LifePoint Church in Finksburg where she is involved with the 12 Step Program ministry, Celebrate Recovery and is a member of a community fellowship group.
